SEM. Son Excellence Monsieur KOUADIO Adjoumani

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein

His Excellency Mr. Kouadio ADJOUMANI was born in 1952 in Gouméré in the sub-prefecture of Bondoukou in the north-east of Côte d'Ivoire.


After his Bachelor's degree in 1973 and a Bachelor's degree in English at the Sorbonne University Paris IV (France) in 1977, he successively obtained the Diplomas in International Relations at the EFAP in Paris (France) in 1976 and at the Université Libre de Brussels (Belgium) in 1978 and the graduate of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) of Côte d'Ivoire, Diplomacy section in 1979.


Ambassador ADJOUMANI, a career diplomat, returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1979 and spent his diplomatic career both in the Central Department and in Diplomatic Representations Abroad where he held senior positions.


This veteran diplomat served as First Counselor in Germany from 1983 to 1987, then as Counselor to the Permanent Mission of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Switzerland and Vienna, Austria from 1987 to 1994.


Appointed Ambassador since 1994, he served as Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of Foreign Affairs before being appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from the north in 1997.


Returning to Côte d'Ivoire in 2002, he served as Technical Advisor to the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and then Diplomatic Counselor for Diplomatic and Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister.


In 2008, he laid his bags in The Hague to open the very first Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Côte d'Ivoire to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and cumulatively Permanent Representative the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).


In 2011, he was accredited as Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and other International Organizations in Geneva, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Swiss Confederation in Berne.


Since December 11, 2015, he is also accredited to the Principality of Liechtenstein.
